It has started to get a little chilly in the past few days, so it was time to swap out a few of my skincare essentials to fit the weather. I prefer to apply more moisturizing products during the fall and winter, than compared to my products in the summer time. With revamping my skincare regime, I decided to try out a few new products as well, so I guess this post is a few essentials that I have been loving for autumn this year so far!
I tend to get a little lazy in the colder months, I blame the cold, but nevertheless, I always make it a point to give my skin the extra attention. To curb those lazy thoughts, I opt for multi-use products, so that I can kill two birds with one stone, figuratively of course! The Este Lauder Perfectly Clean Triple Action Cleanser is just that. It is a cleanser, toner and moisturizer all combined in the most smoothest consistency there ever was. It's not harsh at all and cleanses off all make up or any dirt from my skin.
The Jason Wu for Caudalie Beauty Elixir is a new addition to my skincare routine, but it is one to stay! I have used the original Caudalie beauty elixir before, the one that comes in a clear and green bottle, but I think I prefer the Jason Wu one better. it has notes of bitter orange and mint, which combined smell like a spa! This is a limited edition item so not sure how long it will be sold for! A few spritz after cleansing my face get me all relaxed and calm.
I wanted to try out a new eye cream this winter, so I decided to go for the Fresh Rose Hydrating Eye Gel Cream. Just like I had heard, this product is so hydrating that it almost creates a mask for the undereye which is lightweight and cooling at the same time. It claims to give 30 hours of constant moisture and I completely agree with that. I like applying this both during the day and night, and constantly feel moisturized all day.
Since it's been so windy here for the past few days, I wanted to incorporate a face butter in my skincare, but I also wanted to keep it oil based. With the Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil Face Butter I get the best of both worlds. This product is ultra-hydrating and has a 100% of Pure Argan Oil. It is unscented so it doesn't irritate my skin. It is very blendable and most importantly it is not greasy at all!
On days I don't want to use the whipped argan oil, and want to opt for a lighter moisturizer, I reach for the Valentia Night Revive Retinol Serum. It's a lightweight serum that is infused with Retinol and essential vitamins that comforts my skin into a good night sleep. Retinol is great for your skin because it increases collagen production, while the essential vitamins like C and E help in hydration and brightening my skin throughout the night.
On days that my skin is craving some extra moisture, I go back to an old favorite! The Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask has been a holy grail for more than a year for me. It is clear mask that I apply on my face ten minutes before I head to bed. I have even used it on long flights, since the air on planes are so drying. Everytime I use it, I wake up with the most softest and supple skin texture ever.
