Hey guys! It's another monthly favorites post! I have some new products and a few old faves that I want to share with you today! I really tried to step out of my comfort zone to try out some newer products that you guys have recomended to me in the past, and I was very pleased with some of them! So let's just get into them!
The Valentia Skin Detoxifying Clay Mask* is a new product for me. I picked this product only because it was a clay mask. Only after trying it out did I realize that there are so many more good qualities to this lil gem other than the fact that it is a clay mask! To start off with, it is alcohol and paraben free, which means that it is safe to use on sensitive skin for the most part! It's key ingredients are kaolin clay, plant stem cells and spirulina. Kaolin clay is known for its detoxifying properties, plant stem cells decrease the levels of pro-aging toxins. Spirulina is a botanical stimulant which hydrates the skin and helps in regeneration. So all in all good ingredients and super simple to use! It was a great skin detox with all the weather changes going on recently!
Another product from Valentia I tried was their Clear Lift Revitalizing Serum*. I had heard of this product before from other bloggers, and so I was very excited to try it out! It's key ingredients include seaweed which increases skin oxygen consumption to help in detoxification, lactic acid which is a natural Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) that increases skin cell turnover, licorice which helps in lightening unwanted pigmentation and corrects skin discoloration and lastly argan oil. I loved this product because it is so moisturizing, it almost feels like a water pack. It's going to be an essential for my summer skin care routine and it's a pump bottle which is great for traveling!
I did a product review on this a few days ago, the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks has become a spring time fav for me! I love how versatile the product is. I can use it as a highlight, blush or even an eyeshadow! On my mini Cancun trip, I used it it line my lower lash line, and it gave me a summer island glow to my eyes which I loved! I have the shade nectar, and I will leave the post link below so you can check out that post if you want! I highly recommend the shimmer bricks for the spring and summer months!
This product took me by surprise, the e.l.f Poreless Primer is something that just snuck up on me. There are a few elf products that have made their way into my HG list, and this primer is on the list for sure! The packaging is simple, I do however wish the lid was a bit more sturdy! The product comes in a pump, so you know I already am a fan! It comes out white, but once it's blended it leaves a matte clear finish! It is a great drugstore option for a pore minimizing primer! I am however still in love with the Trader Joe's primer, but this prime is very high up as well on my list! The best thing about this prime is that it's scent has notes of aloe vera, which is so calming to me!
My last product for this post is a new product as well as a new concept to me! Since everyone is buzzing about contouring in the beauty community, I decided to give in and see what all the fuss was about! I decided to opt for a cream consistency, since I was still working my way through it. I purchased the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation Stick in the shade 340 Cappuccino. So it is a foundation stick in a few shades darker than my skin tone! I don't contour a lot, some times around my temples and down the bridge of my nose! It's great for even bringing out some color onto my face on rainy days! I have found that the stick is just easier to work with, and the product is very blendable, so I am not left with any harsh lines!
I realise this month's favorites were few but I have been on a mission to finish up my remaining products so I can refill my make up boxes with the new season! Also really trying to minimize the clutter, therefore my trips to sephora are strictly on essential basis! What were some of your favorites for the month of April? xx
