Since summer is coming to an end, I often find myself exhausted from this year so far. With loads of things still left to do for the year, I wanted to make sure my energy levels don't wind down after a wonderful summer. I have put together some tips that I think will benefit you, as they did benefit me, on how to power through the remainder of the year, whilst feeling and doing your best!
This is pretty self explanatory, stay hydrated! I have been trying to drink at least one liter of water everyday for the past month, and I can honestly say, this is the best advice anyone can ever give you. Water will help replenish the cells in your body, which in turn does so much good for you. Your skin, hair, mood and attitude towards life will be improved and you will be thanking yourself in just a few days! Dehydration can cause dizziness, fatigue and lack of concentration in many, so I think this is the simplest way to turn your life around, at least it's a start! A few slices of lemon and mint leaves add a great touch too!
I love to believe I am Supergirl, but I always need to remind myself that it is okay to take a break. Take small 10 minute breaks in your day at work or school to give yourself a breather. Life can get so stressful sometimes, that it's good to just pause for a few minutes to take it all in and then your can go back to being Supergirl!
I am a firm believer of naps, small or long, I love to sleep. Although sleeping for long hours during your day isn't really productive, unless if you work at night. I like to just put my head down for ten minutes on days when I am reaching my saturation point. I have noticed that those ten minutes are enough for me to refresh my brain and restart my work with ease.
I made it a point to take the stairs over the elevator for this month in August, which made me a bit more active this month. Let's face it, there are days that going to the gym or that yoga class isn't going to happen. With taking the stairs, or walking during the day instead of ubering short distances, I have still maintained myself on being active and I can enjoy the last few weeks of summer.
I have always been someone who loves splurging on candles for my home, but recently I have started investing in some therapeutic essential oils. I bought mine at a local whole foods, but there are tons to buy off of Amazon as well. A few drops in my bath at night, or in some hot water on the stove can fill up the house with a soothing aroma. I even love applying a few drops on my wrist, which allows me to enjoy the scents wherever I go. A few favorite scents are eucalyptus, lavender and peppermint.
