I recently visited Ted's Bulletin for the second time and had such an amazing experience that I had to share it with you all! We went for my sister's birthday brunch, and needless to say, we all left full and satisfied! We ate at the DC location, but to my knowledge, Ted's Bulletin is in Reston and Merrifield too, for my Virginia lovelies!
The location was good, and we found parking easily. I think all the Ted's Bulletin restaurants are modeled the same, so it was familiar. The first time I had been here was in Reston Town Center, a few weeks back. For a Sunday afternoon it was pretty packed with the brunch crowd, but the wait was only about 10-15 minutes, which is not so bad. We were seated immediately and told the specials by our waiter.
The ambiance was warm and fun, packed with families and couples. Their menu's are fashioned as old school newspapers, which I thought was super adorable! Ted' Bulletin is known for quite a few things, namely their homemade pop tarts! They have different flavors everyday, and believe those little treats are definitely worth the calories! You can always go to the gym later!
We ordered the blueberry cheesecake pop tart for desert, but it actually was the first things to arrive. Sweeter appetizer I suppose? Lol. It was warm and soft, but not crumbly. the filling was blueberries and cheesecake, enveloped in a soft dough, topped with a white sugar icing and blue and purple sprinkles. Will definitely be getting that next time!
I had heard great reviews about their milkshakes, so decided to try out the Caramel Macchiato shake, which came with a caramel/toffee ice cream. The shake was presented in an old school tall shake glasses. Went well with the theme. It was topped off with whipped cream, caramel sauce and chocolate chips. The perfect amount of caramel, without the empowering sweetness. And of course,me being me, could not finish the entire shake whilst eating, so they were kind enough to give me a to-go plastic cup for my shake!
And finally, the best for the last, my sister and I split the Walk of Shame Breakfast Burrito. It was a well stuffed burrito with scrambled eggs, cheddar, hash browns, green chili sauce. We decided to substitute the steak with avocados instead and it was absolutely delicious! The chilli sauce gave it that tex-mex kick, yet it was still light enough for a breakfast entree. They actually serve breakfast all day here, so I'm pretty sure I'll be back soon for that meal!
The hash browns on the side were shredded and lightly fried. They were light and easy to take down, with such a filling meal. The chopped tomatoes and sliced avocados were a fun twist to breakfast burrito and made the meal delicious and healthy!
Since it was my sister's birthday, we had mentioned it to our waiter when I went to go "use the restroom' haha, he was kind enough to bring her a Strawberry Cheesecake pop tart with a candle on the house! So not only did we have an amazing meal that day, we got to try out another one of their famous pop tarts! Out of the two pop tarts, I would have to say my favorite was the Strawberry Cheesecake. It surprisingly wasn't too sweet, like I thought it would be.
Overall, we were very satisfied with our brunch at Ted's Bulletin! And I can say it with no hesitation, we will surely be going back! Everything from the decor, ambiance, the service and espicially the food was impeccable! If you all haven't' been yet, I highly recommend that you do! It will most definitely be worth it!
