How is January over already?! I feel like it was just November 2015! Just like last year I feel like 2016 is going to fly by so fast! Anyways, I am trying to keep up with my blog post, that was my new years resolutions to be more regular with my posts! Okay, beauty favorites, let's get started!
I have used the Ocean Salt face and body scrub for ages, and it's a product that I always come back to. Lush always has really good products, and this scrub is a go to for me. I love the texture of this products, because while it's a scrub, it's still got a creamy base. The fact that my skin doesn't feel tight or dry after using this really makes it worth the money! I have seen myself picking up this product during the winter months, when the temperatures are so cold and harsh. Since the winter can be so drying on my skin, I find that this scrub helps my skin to stay moisturized while still getting exfoliated.
I have tried to be regular with following the few steps for taking care of my skin. I noticed last summer that doing the 4-5 steps to cleanse and moisturize my skin has really made a difference! Using a toner has always been part of my skincare routine, but recently I have been on a hunt for a new toner. I have loved the L'ancome toner, but I wanted to try something maybe a little more easy on my wallet, yet still something with good quality. Since many of you know, I am obsessed with Target, and can probably spend way too much time there! haha, and in one of my usual target runs last year, I found this Boots Botanics Rosewater Toning Spritz. I am in love! The product is in a spray bottle! I don't know why all the other toners aren't in a spray bottle! I can go on and on about this product! It's refreshing, smells great, and really does make me feel calm.
dI have talked about how much I am enjoying using face oils for the past few months, and I think I found another holy grail! The Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil is an organic moisturizer that is light and refreshing. The scent is very calming and it's super moisturizing. I don't feel greasy or heavy after using this produt, and I think the dropper system makes it very sanitary to use. I am currently also trying out the Josie Maran Argan Oil cleanser, so will let you all know what I think about that!
I wanted to start 2016 with a fresh routine of some new products that I have always wanted to try out! I came across this eye cream and was very pleased with the results! Since I'm not getting any younger, I figured it's probably a good time to start taking care of the little things that age is quickly! The Ultra Ageless Eye Cream * has a silky texture which makes application very soothing and calming! I've tried a lot of eye creams before that either are too sticky or very drying, and I think this product is a good mix in between and almost leaves a hydrating effect after. Who doesn't like that right? Plus the ingredients totally sold me, if nothing else. Algae extract is super rich in vitamin a, coffee seed extract is known to be anti-aging and has high portions of vitamin e. The carrot root extract is a form of beta carotene which is found in a lot of anti aging products too! So I think I might have found a HG product to keep my under eye area happy! Oh also, it's a cruelty free company, so that's always a plus!
As for makeup, I have only a few this month! The Burberry Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base has been a favorite for the past few months! I loved adding this to my makeup routine, especially during the holiday season! With all the holiday parties and happy hours, I was happy to use this to add an extra glow! It's a foundation consistency, so it can be mixed in with your foundation for the extra luminosity or you can wear it on it's own! I am in the shade No. 02, Golden Radiance. I think its a product worth buying!
I usually go for wine or plum colored blushes during the winter months, but recently I have been obsessed with the natural- dewy looks. So to stay with that theme, I think peach colored blushes are perfect to get the natural glow. MAC blushes never disappoint. I feel like I have a love hate relationship with MAC, but usually more often that not I always come back to MAC! But it's always fun to try out different brands! I love the powder blush in Peaches by MAC, it gives the perfect natural glow and it doesn't look cakey at all! A little goes a long way with this, a tap or two with your blush brush should be good!
After all the wine and reds from the holiday season, I have been painting my nails in more transition or cooler colors. January has been more of a lighter, yet neutral nails shade month for me! I am so ready to be in spring that I try to trick myself with lighter nails! Sad? maybe so, but Jonas did not help at all! The L'oreal nail polishes are one of my favorites! They have a great selection and they always have great color pay off! I coat or two on, and my nails look clean and polished! For January, I have been wearing the shades Liya's Nudes (630) and Royalty Reinvented (107).
I hope you all had a wonderful month and are having a good 2016 so far! What are some of your favorites of the month?
